Click an app to see the percentage of battery usage that occurred in the foreground versus the background. If you see a higher percentage for the background, then the app is one you may want to close when you're not actively using it and open it only when you need it. To further control your battery usage, go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
Circling back to the situation in Android 12, Google completely redesigned the “battery usage” page to a new structure. Instead of showing stats from the last full charge, the revamped battery screen would show usage over the past 24 hours, regardless of if you charged your phone in that time.
As it stands, some Pixel owners are not so happy with the new battery settings UI after the update to Android 12. In the previous version (i.e. Android 11), the battery settings page displayed usage data since the last full charge. However, the new one is completely different and it only shows you the usage data for the last 24 hours.
